About

I am a Virginia born and raised married mom of 2, who is in a seemingly endless search for that perfect “work/life balance” I’ve heard so much about. This blog is about that search, and the more important things I’m finding along the way. It’s also about politics (where I’ve spent most of my professional life), family, the books I’m reading and want to read, and just the thoughts I’m having in general.

You’ll read a lot about my family here-it’s made up of my husband, “J,” my 5 year old daughter “Bug,” and her one year old sister, “Bean.” There are many other characters who you will meet along the way as well.

You have enough “characters” in the extended families to keep you in stories for years.

    Hey!

I have been so busy and mind running elsewhere I haven’t visited in a while. Hope you are well and enjoying summer! Did you switch up and just start using WordPress or have you used this all along? For some reason I thought you used Blogger before?
Anyway- been fun poking around all these freebie useable sites! I’d love to hear your opinions and experience on them all!

    Diane 🙂

    Hi,

This is Lori L. Tharps, the author of the new novel, Substitute Me. You won the free copy of the book, from the MamaLaw website. Thanks for your comment. I wish I could send you a ‘substitute me’ instead of a book, but hopefully, you’ll enjoy the read.

If you would send me a mailing address to myamericanmeltingpot@gmail.com, we’ll get a book to you right away.

    I hope you enjoy it.

    Lori L. Tharps
